Disclaimer
By clicking Register below you agree to be bound by these conditions. While the administrators and moderators of this site will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to this site express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable. You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. Creating multiple accounts for a single user is not allowed. You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this site have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit. As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised. This site system uses cookies to store information on your local computer. These cookies do not contain any of the information you have entered above, they serve only to improve your viewing pleasure. The email address is used only for confirming your registration details and password (and for sending new passwords should you forget your current one). Signatures and Avatars 1. Signatures are limited to six lines of regular text, including blank lines, or the equivalent size in picture, or picture/text combination. 2. Banners or information linking to vendor sites ARE NOT ALLOWED in signatures unless the vendor being listed is a paying site vendor. 3. Signature and avatar content is subject to the same rules as forum posts. As a rule of thumb, if we won't allow it in a thread, it's not allowed in a signature. Moderators reserve the right to edit or remove any signature, avatar, or avatar caption as we deem necessary. User Conduct 1. Attacks on moderators will not be tolerated, and may result in an immediate permanent ban. Moderators sometimes have to make difficult judgment calls, but remember we *are* human (well at least most of us are!) Hopefully we'll make decisions that are considered "correct" by the majority of the community. Do not post complaints, criticisms, or moderation questions on the forum. These posts will be deleted and no explanation will be given. If you have a concern about a particular moderator, send a private message to a Super Moderator or Administrator. And if you have constructive suggestions on improvements that can be made to the forum or its moderation, please post them in the Suggestions area. 2. Keep in mind that this is not a democracy. We have the right to refuse service to anyone. If you make yourself too big of a pain in the butt to the moderating community or otherwise are a bad influence on the forum, your access may be revoked. 3. This is not a flame war site, so please do not engage in such. No distinction will be made between the instigator and those who merely participate. 4. Personal attacks against other forum members will not be tolerated, nor will any type of "trolling" for a fight. This includes political attacks, slurs, or sneering at any viewpoint or political party. 5. No racist, homophobic, or misogynistic remarks, including derogatory slang, be it overt or covert, will be tolerated. 6. Be respectful. This is harder to define, but will be moderated. If a moderator believes you are being purposefully disrespectful to a fellow member, you will be notified. Bashing for the sake of bashing will not be tolerated. 7. Don't make slanderous accusations. If you have a problem with another member or business, and cannot prove it absolutely, don?t bring in into the forum. It could be treated as grounds for a lawsuit if you do. Provide your proof in any such posts. Post with accusations but no proof will be deleted, and the poster will be notified. If your beef is over a purchase/sales experience, we have an area of the forum devoted to that, the "Good Guy/Bad Guy" forum. 8. No sexually explicit material, nudity, or graphic violence are to be posted. The rule of thumb is that if it's something you wouldn't see on network TV, don't post it. The forum strives to maintain a welcoming and family type atmosphere for its members. Any attempts, overt or covert, to undermine this goal will not be tolerated. 9. If you are posting a new thread, do not use vulgarity in the title of the thread. Inside a thread, profanity will only be allowed if used in a controlled manner, and not directed at a particular forum member. Again, just try and be respectful of other forum members. 10. Attacks on new forum members (or "Noobies") will not be tolerated. Remember we were all new to the forum once. 11. Do not post a thread solely aimed at getting the attention of another forum member (i.e. posting ATTENTION FRED SMITH!) The forum provides a private messaging system for contacting individual forum members. 12. Posts soliciting for multilevel marking schemes (e.g. Free Ipod or similar) are not allowed, nor are any posts soliciting donations for ANY reason without special permission from forum Administration. 13. Multiple posts about the same thing across many forums are considered "spamming" the site and may result in the poster being banned. 14. Please include a descriptive subject for your thread. People shouldn't have to open the thread to find out what the topic is! 15. We do not have a street racing or "kills" forum on this site, and threads or posts about street racing will not be tolerated. These types of posts inevitably turn into flamewars, which nobody wins. Also, any forum member caught trolling and intentionally instigating a flame war on any other auto enthusiast forum gets an immediate 1-week ban; protesting this action results in a permanent ban. 16. Do not deliberately inflate your post count, aka "post-whoring" by responding to a thread with multiple responses when one would do, or "contributing" to threads with a constant string of "me to" or "yeah!" type comments. This has been tolerated in the past but will be no longer. Deliberately inflating one's post count does nothing but waste server space and turn otherwise useful threads into impossible to navigate pages of junk. 17. Do not start threads on religion or politics. Experience with the forum has proven that political or religious discussions inevitably become flamefests, which are prohibited (see the first rule above). So don't start them. 18. Allowable sales of items must be done via our Classified section, and users must read and agree to the Classifed Section Rules (below). 19. The forum has a very useful search feature. Many questions that new members might have will already have been answered - we recommend that you do a search first before posting a question. How We Handle Violations Failure to comply with ANY of the Forum rules may result in disciplinary actions being taken against you, including a ban on your forum account. These actions are usually as follows, though the moderators may, at our discretion, skip steps as we deem necessary> - For the first violation, a warning may be sent via private message (PM) and the offending post is modified or deleted. - For the second violation, a warning may be posted in the thread(s) or other "public" place. - Third violation and it?s 3 strikes you?re out. The result is usually a permanent ban, although temporary bans of varying duration may be given on occation. We only use temporary bans occationally, and only when we're convinced that the person getting banned just needs a lesson, but will play nice when they return - We will not get into a debate with a ban-ee or follower of them, here or on other forums. Any threads opened to discuss/debate/complain that a user was banned will be deleted, and the thread participants may find themselves also banned. - After banning, we will frequently edit the banee's title to reflect why they are banned. - If you're banned, do not register with another ID -- we *will* find out eventually, ban you again, and we may take further action, including the possibility of contacting your ISP to report the violation. Violations could possibly constitute federal charges. - The forum Administrators and Moderators retain the right to modify, edit, move, or delete any posts made on the forum by virtue of their position and in compliance with the aforementioned standards. Further, if you continually or repeatedly violate the rules of the forum, your account may be banned. - Before we unban someone who wants back, we require they provide a verifiable real name, age, address, and phone number; and if under the age of 18, parents name, address, and phone number. Only when we verify this info will we consider them coming back. Idea here is this removes the anonymity of the Internet and may lead to people who have been banned thinking twice before they start becoming an internet tough guy. Classified Section Rules BY USING THIS FREE SERVICE YOU RECOGNIZE AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT TEXAS REGION SCCA INC. OR EQUIPE RAPIDE INC. CAN IN NO WAY BE HELD LIABLE FOR THE ACCURACY OF STATEMENTS MADE BY USERS OF THE SERVICE, OR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM TRANSACTIONS MADE BY USERS OF THE SERVICE. - No Dealers in the classified sections. A dealer is defined as anyone who is selling more than 2 of the same product, or who repeatedly has items for sale. BUYER BEWARE!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! - If possible try to make the deal in person. - If something sounds too good to be true it probably is. - It is HIGH RECOMMENDED that you use an Escrow service, such as https://www.escrow.com/ or http://www.safefunds.com/ to handle money. - If you're using Paypal only accept money from verified buyers, if you're selling accept from verfied sellers. You have been warned. - If you decide to conduct the transaction over the internet try to cover yourself. Keep track of ALL correspondence! If you have any doubts try using an escrowe service for anything that costs more than $100 and is being shipped. - Buyers MUST keep a record of their payment whether it's a copy of a money order or a paypal email (Save the original email along with all of it's headers). Make sure it has the seller's name on it. - Sellers MUST USE a traceable method of shipment and remember to write the buyer's address on it. This usually only costs a few bucks extra. - If you get ripped off, it is recommended that you retain an attorney, contact your local law enforcement agencies, and contact the FBI Internet Fraud Complaint Center here http://www.ic3.gov/ . - The Texas Region SCCA Inc has no obligation to help you arbitrate an issue or dispute with someone selling items via the Classifieds section. If you have problems, it will be up to you to work them out with the seller. - This Forum is not a general classified ad site; please do not post for sale ads for your used car (unless it's autocross related), your apartment for sublease, or your used furniture, etc. These types of ads will be removed. - No "How much is this car worth?" type threads. To determine this, do a basic scan on Autotrader.com, Ebaymotors.com, etc. to figure out what the average price is for a given car. Threads posted here asking our members to estimate the value of your car will be deleted. - No selling stuff on behalf of other people. If they can't sell it themselves that's their own problem. Don't make it yours. - No thread crapping. If you think something is over priced the seller will usually figure this out pretty quickly. - No thread hijacking. (when someone posts a FS/WTB/FT thread and you post 'me too!') - All items
MUST
have an asking price. - All FS/FT/WTB threads
MUST
list where you are located in the heading of the thread by either City/State or Zip code. - This is not an auction site. DO NOT DIRECTLY LINK YOUR PRODUCT TO EBAY
- Try to make your buy/sell/trade post subject look something like this: > state if it is FS/FT/WTB (ForSale/ForTrade/WantToBuy) > describe the product > state the price (With currency) (if it's a FS ad) > state the location > state iff you are willing to ship > remember a picture is worth a thousand words > use the specific section, put them where it belongs. - Remember, there are people from all over the world here so remember to specify the currency. - Try to keep the number of NEW threads to a mininum per member (if you have 5 different things to sell at once don't put post 5 different threads). - No excessive thread bumping, a bump every 2 or 3 days is fine. - Please don't bother the site owner/moderators with things that aren't from this board. If you meet someone and they sell you something extra that's your problem. - Remember moderator(s) don't get paid a cent for policing this, so keep that in mind when you complain to the admin(s)/moderator(s)! - No > illegal software > Dangerous, counterfeit or stolen goods > Goods which do not actually exist > Food item > Alcoholic beverages > Cigarettes or any other tobacco products > Pharmaceuticals or any other controlled substance > Any good that infringes or violates anyone's rights > Any item which in is inflammatory, offensive or otherwise inconsistent with standards of business ethics. > Any messages, data, or images that might be considered by a reasonable person to be obscene or which contain racial, ethnic, religious slurs or derogatory epithets, or advocating violence, hate or other language that is deeply or widely offensive. - If you are found to be ripping anyone off you will be put on the 'good guy/bad guy' section by the buyer and be banned. - Remember to always leave a feedback after a transaction in the Good Guy/Bad Guy forum - If you sell your item(s) please notify others by posting an update
I agree to the above
