Divisional Planning:: 2010 Divisional Schedule Update
Howdy Drivers!!!

Unfortunately, I must announce the Spokes/Lone Star Region Divisional scheduled for April is cancelled due to lack of a suitable site. Also, the June date for Texas Region is rescheduled for July 31-Aug 1 at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie.

Registration will be open soon for the May event in Baton Rouge hosted by CENLA, details to follow. I have shutdown swsolo.com as it was not serving the purpose I intended. I will continue to post to all of the forums as before. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the National Tour! Stay tuned!!

Todd Farris
SW Division Solo Steward

First 2010 Texas Region Rally [by sccarally]

TX Region Talk:: First 2010 Texas Region Rally
The rally school is over, so it's time for the 2010 edition of the DFW Map Rally, which will be held on Saturday, April 3rd.

This rally involves a map specially printed for us by Mapsco, of the area in Collin and Dallas counties where the rally will take place. You will be given some rules for determining the route to take. You will figure out that route, then drive it. The team that most closely follows the predicted route, and who finds the most clues along the route, will be the winner. See details on the attached flyer.

The event will start at Subaru of Plano, 4480 W. Plano Pkwy in Plano, east of Ohio and west of Coit Road. Registration will open at 8:30am, with the first car starting at 10:01am. The finish is at Napoli's Pizza & Restaurant, also in Plano.

The entry fee is $20 if you preregister. Go to http://www.texasscca.org/DMR10flyer0.pdf to preregister. There will be a $5 late fee for registering on April 3rd. Non-SCCA members pay $30.

Join us for three hours of seat time!

Sasha

TX Region Talk:: Car destroyed
Sunday Feb 28 2:15 AM,

I am lying in bed dreaming. Dreaming of Scarlett. Her perfectly formed body always willing to please. I am dreaming of her because she captivates my mind, satisfies my craving for control and power. Just staring at her causes my heart to skip, the sound she makes when she is excited assaults my senses as I throw her into the curves, hammering away at her shifter, pushing her harder and har…..

BAM BAM BAM…

Suddenly springing awake, I realize some one is pounding on the front door. Springing from my bed I reach for my trusty .45. Its weight reassuring in my hand with its 9 230 grain jacketed hollow points standing by.

As I flash past the front window heading towards the door, I have a strange realization..I don’t remember parking Scarlett like that. I reach the door and peer thru the peep hole, .45 at the low ready. I see Raul, the across the street neighbor. He and I have had our differences in the past, wondering why he is beating on my door at 2:15 in the morning I holler out, “Who is it?” “It’s Raul, you need to come out side, IT YOUR CAR!” Moving back to the front window I gaze outside to see just what he is talki…WTF!

Racing to the bedroom to put on clothes I stuff the .45 into its holster, and head outside. As soon as I step out of the garage I can see the debris field that is strewn across my driveway and yard. Scarlett, now bashed and bruised is sitting 3 feet back from where I left her and she has rotated 20 degrees to the left. Her face always so beautiful now a mangled mess.

Who could do such a thing? The only evidence left behind is a solitary fog light and some skid marks. Somehow, somebody has assaulted my baby. Some low life cretin has failed to handle his wench and failed to turn right when the street turns right and has driven his wench straight up my driveway and into my beloved Scarlett. Further evidence of his low lifeness, the cretin backs up and drives off into the night. Leaving my Scarlett to slowly bleed out in the driveway.

The boring version..

2:00 AM. Some Assenheimer fails to turn right and drives up my drive way and slams into my car then drives off. Hit and Run! The only up side is that if Scarlett had not been there, he would have driven thru the house. It took a couple days as they took her apart to determine how much damage there and if she would be totaled or not. Geico gave me a 2010 F-150 to drive as a loaner.

Found out on Weds, she is totaled.

TX Region Talk:: Rally School!
We had a number of Texas Region autocrossers at our rallies last year. Maybe there weren't more of you because some of you weren't sure you knew how to do it! So here's the cure: the 2010 SCCA Rally School on March 6th.

The school will be held at No Frills Grill & Sports Bar in SW Arlington (4914 Little Rd Arlington 76017, 817-478-1766). Registration and lunch will be from 11am to 1pm, with the school beginning at 1pm. You'll get to take a short drive to illustrate course-following skills that you have learned.

To register for the school, please log on to: tinyurl.com/RS10msr

The cost is $10 per car (2 people). Extra students: $5.

Children under driving age: free.

We look forward to seeing you there.

For more information and our 2010 schedule of fun rally events, go to www.texasscca.org/rally.html .

Sasha

The chance of rain has now jumped to 70%, so I am officially cancelling the event and all monies will be refunded. If this were a normal event, then the cancellation would not occur, but the Winter Series events have special exceptions. Sorry folks.
