Hello Fellow Autocrossers,

Equipe Rapide Challenge Cup number five was held on July 25th at Pennington Field in Bedford, TX. The weather was pleasant there was a good turnout.

We have elected board members for the 2011 season. Congratulations to David Whitener, Danny Mehl, and Don Draheim. Board members are vital to the operation of the corporation and perform duties such as voting on policy, procurement of trophies and supplies, serving as a liaison to the club members, and evaluating course designs for safety and flow. It is also a well known fact that board members are guaranteed first place at each event unless their co-driver is also a board member. Then they have to perform a secret ritual (coin toss) prior to each event to see who is going to win.

Please volunteer to be event master for one of our upcoming events. There are still dates available. Benefits to being the event master are that you get to set the course up to suit your driving style and car and the event master gets to take the first run which is an extra free run on the course. You do not have to be a board member to be an event master. If you are interested please e-mail me.

Our Equipe Rapide T-Shirts trophies are proudly being worn. Members have seen shirts being worn at tours, divisionals, and other local events. We have received a new batch for all the class winners and runners up for the next few events.

Equipe Rapide wants to make you a great offer! We are offering a contingency to Nationals competitors. The rules are pretty simple. Place an Equipe Rapide sticker on each side of your car and wear the stylish Equipe Rapide "Trophy" shirt for at least one day while at Nationals. If you get a trophy at Nationals then you win a "You're Fired!" card. Redeem the card to get out of your work assignment at one event. Contact a member of the board at the August 22nd Challenge Cup event for more details. Shirts and stickers will be provided to registered Nationals competitors.

The Novice Chief, David Whitener, has been busy conducting the Novice Walkthrough on the morning of the event and giving helpful hints. David will be coordinating rides with novices who would like some one-on-one instruction. Equipe Rapide allows any legal competitor to ride along with another competitor as many times as they wish. If you would like to ride along or have an experienced participant ride with you then please contact David at the Novice Walk through.

Live results will be offered again at our next event thanks to Kenny Baker and Mark Wortham. You can view the results live over your smart phone or at home if you can't make it out to the event.

Equipe Rapide Challenge Cup number six will be held on August 22nd at Pennington Field in Bedford. The event master is Mark Madarash. This will be the last autocross in North Texas on concrete prior to Nationals. Come on out to get that last bit of seat time before the big show. I hope to see you out there.
